FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
If your child previously participated in Emerging Bears or Bears Academy, they will now follow one of two pathways:
Most players will enrol in our 9–12 Development Program, with multiple days available to choose from.
Some players may be invited to trial for our Future Bears program for their age group, which will officially commence in 2026.
If you are unsure which option is best for your child, our coaching team is happy to help guide you.
-
Our most advanced program for each age group is now called Future Bears and will operate as an invite-only program.
This change allows us to:
Maintain a high standard within advanced groups.
Ensure players are training with others at a similar skill level.
Create a clear and meaningful development pathway from beginner through to elite levels.
By separating development and advanced programs, every child has room to grow while keeping progression clear and fair.
-
All players are welcome to attend the Future Bears trials in January.
Trial dates will be announced shortly.
No invitation is required to attend the trial
Invitations are only issued after the trial, based on coach assessment
This ensures every child has the opportunity to be considered.
-
Yes. All development programs will be split into skill-based levels within each age group.
In Week 1, our coaches will assess each player and place them into the most appropriate group.
This ensures:
Players are challenged appropriately.
Sessions remain fun, supportive, and confidence-building.
Development is tailored to each child’s ability.
-
Player development is reviewed ongoing throughout the program.
Coaches will move players up when they demonstrate consistent improvement and readiness.
Movement is not limited to specific weeks, and won’t happen every session.
Progression is based on confidence, skill execution, and game understanding.
Our priority is making sure every child progresses at the right pace for them.
