Lane Cove Council has withdrawn their development application, of Lane Cove Golf course on River Road, after spending more than $1,000,000 on the proposal to date.
The planned development included 5 indoor multi-sport courts, 4 outdoor tennis/netball courts, a 9-hole golf course, underground parking and other ancillary facilities.

The new Council has responded to some concerns raised, prior to the elections, that there had been insufficient community consultation and review of the business case.
Most councillors have expressed their support for an indoor sports facility, however withdrawing the development application has delayed any possible start by a minimum of 6 months.
Here’s how YOU can help:

3. Send an individual email for each and every parent, carer and child with an email address, explaining how important, and overdue, these facilities are to the community. Address your emails to the following:

We need to help them understand that proceeding with the proposal is not only the right thing, but an essential requirement, already long overdue, and desperately needed to cope with the overwhelming demand across the community of both Lane Cove and the entire Lower North Shore.
