Referee Grading Information
Norths takes pride in their referees and aims to ensure officiating competencies and requirements are consistent across the different grades of Norths referees.
We work closely with Basketball NSW and Basketball Australia to ensure that we are up to date with the most current officiating techniques, guidelines, and education material, thus ensuring our grading system is in line with that of Basketball Australia.
Our Games Service Commissioners (GSCs) are all trained and are there to provide you with guidance and support on and off the court. If you need advice and coaching, the GSC is the first point of contact for any questions you may have on the day. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact officials@nsba.com.au
Please see the Basketball Australia Grading Matrix which outlines recommended minimum age requirements, referee requirements and competencies and officiating recommendations for each referee grade.
If you are a current Norths referee looking to be assessed in your refereeing, please click here and fill out the following form so you can be rostered to an appropriate game for an assessment.
If you are interested in becoming a referee, check out our upcoming courses page for details on when and how you can get involved!
